Rolling in the Deep

In response to the video:Changing Education Paradigms, we know very well the problems of students and schools. Actually, I agree with the lecturer's talk. There are varieties of problems with students and education systems. Therefore, those who are concerned about their children become worry about the education of the country.  However, we should clearly think and understand what the real problem is and how can we solve it.

According to man-kind's history, the education system and young generation's problems have always become controversial in their societies. This is because, not only the education systems and students' behaving but because it has involvement by the policy of the government. Thus we should ask ourselves as who makes curriculums of the school? Why they made the curriculums? What is their purpose? Maybe we need to question hundreds or thousands of questions.

However, this is necessary for the development our own country's education system and the assurance for the future of our children. It is through many questioning, we could realise that the problems of education is not only the school system but also the policy of the government. It therefore could be argued on how the education system is being managed.

Many people believe that home education is important with the co-operation with school teachers. Furthermore, parents also should up-date themselves with the education system and the changes in their child's behaviour. If this can be applied, we may not be able to change the whole world but we could see the changing around us, in our children, our neighbours, school curriculums and the government's token actions.

  1. I do agree with you that after rolling in the deep it's not easy to see what lies beneath or above us. Most of the time we're just accepting what is given to us. Rumour has it has it that if the schools do well, the society should be turning the tables around. However, is achievement one and ony yarstick of measurement? Who should be the ones to take it all in education? Governments, schools, teachers, parents, or students? Sadly, to wait for hope is to set fire to the rain. However, someone like you and me should be positive too though with much difficulty.

  2. I want to say that we simply cannot blame to Governments, schools, teachers, parents, or students since it is imbalance of social structure. If there are some problems with education of one country, it is just reflexed of the country’s imbalance of social structure.

  3. Too2second, then how should we identify, address, and solve the problem that we see? Where should we start?

  4. I believe that education has amazing power, which means if anyone started finding the right way to teach and found that the education system does not concern about the problems in their society, the teachers should start to implement the right way to teach first. I know….It is not easy - The teachers are also being employed by people who have hegemony. They cannot avoid or object them. – However, If those who teach faced and found the problems in their society with education system, they should decide the right way to teach as a teacher. And they should act before it's too late.

  5. OK, maybe we should discuss more on this in class when we deal with policy issues.
